Fifi’s Vision C.I.C Support for families who have additional needs.
Myself and my two daughters are autistic and have gone through some really challenging times that pushed me to create a support group.
I voluntarily dedicate my time into running free weekly sessions and creating opportunities for individuals and families along with peer support to reduce isolation and loneliness which I once felt.
I work independently and do not receive funding however over the years I am so grateful for the love and support that has certainly kept me going.
I have also been fortunate to have had some generous contributions that go directly to my community groups where many families have benefited from since 2018 when I created the group.
I hope my sessions help give a sense of belonging and have a positive impact on their mental health.
Bringing like minded people together who have lived experience to share and support each other navigating the SEN world and build meaningful friendships is one of my many goals.
We have various sessions throughout Reading on varying days.
I run Walk it Through/ Park meet ups around Reading throughout the week helping families to access their local community as well as breakfast meet ups.
I have various other activities and events I regularly host and continue to build on as well as fund raising events for day trips helping families to access experiences that they may face barriers accessing without our peer support and help.
Mandatory running costs and paper work has been a learning journey for myself and definitely a challenge but seeing the impact of Fifi's Vision C.I.C for so many people gives me the determination to embrace the challenges and continue to provide a lifeline.
